Are you ready for the ultimate SMD soldering exercise?

This advanced SMD soldering exercise is a challenge and is just right for you if you want to take your soldering skills to the next level! It is based on our successful SMD soldering exercise (0805 + 0603) and presents you with new, exciting challenges.

All components are assembled on the TOP side . Here is an overview of what you can expect:

  • 8 resistors (1206)
  • 20 resistors (0805)
  • 8 LEDs (0805)
  • 20 resistors (0603)
  • 3 ICs (SOT23-5)
  • 2 ICs (SO14)

At the bottom of the board you will find a white label field where you can write your name - perfect for personalizing your work! And the best thing is: you can see at a glance whether you have soldered everything correctly, because the eight LEDs will tell you straight away. Simply apply 5V to the large pads on the edge of the board (don't forget the polarity and it's best to set the current limit of your power supply).

But be careful, this is where it gets tricky: This exercise is full of little nasty things that will make soldering really difficult for you. There are GND vias very close to the pads or even vias directly in the pads . Perfect for really mastering your SMD soldering technique and facing all challenges!
